Retraining CSR's on new system

Good Afternoon! I am currently in the process of putting a manual together to explain how to use a updated system and I was interested in doing it through self directed learning, but I have NEVER used this training technique, but would like to use it because I am retraining them. Does anyone have any information on self direct learning or Problem based learning?
